SummerSong Concert & Dessert Fellowship

Please join us for an evening of great music and wonderful fellowship on Saturday, August 3rd at 6:30 PM at Holy Trinity.

The evening will begin with the Anselm Celtic Band, which includes our own Terri Moon, Clay Clarkson, Mark Fisher, and others.

Then we will experience Nashville-based international singer-songwriter Stephanie Staples, who has ministered and performed around the world for over two decades.

Stephanie’s studio albums tell part of her story but it is in her live performances that she truly shines, captivating audiences and fostering a reflective and prayerful atmosphere as she pours the full depth of her life experiences into her music, not shying away from the reality of suffering and dark times but reflecting a light that persists through it all.

Learn more about Stephanie here!

Following the concert, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for a dessert social.

Please see the link below for tickets to the concert. The ticket price is $10 per person, but tickets are discounted to $5 per person, if you bring a dessert for the fellowship time.

On months that contain five Sundays, we do something different on the fifth Sunday of the month: we have a single Sunday service at 9:30 AM followed with food.

June is one of those months! Thus, on June 30, we will have a potluck brunch immediately following the single service and spend time together in fellowship as a Church family.

Bring your favorite dish to share, as you're able, and enjoy fellowship and food together!

If you are interested in volunteering to help with this event, please contact the church office at office@holytrinityanglicanchurch.org.

We will have our Spring cleanup work day on June 22 to spruce up the grounds around the church building.

The plan is to concentrate on raking up pine needles around the property, pruning the dead branches on plants near the front door, and pulling those nasty weeds and thistles from the grass and the gravel areas.

We are also planning some major work (and progress) on the repairs to the playground equipment in the back yard. If you are able and inclined to help with the construction work, we'd greatly appreciate the assistance.

For the yard work, please bring rakes and gloves and clippers. We will provide trash bags.

We will also have coffee, bottled water and some donuts to refresh and sustain our workers.

Music Ministry: Call for Musicians

The music ministry is seeking musicians, both singers and instrumentalists, who have a calling to lead worship. We are looking for those who are willing to cultivate faithfulness, develop their musical skills, serve with their time and talents, and desire to grow in their own life of worship. We are seeking those who have some skill, yes, but more importantly, those who are willing to collaborate with others on a team, and be used by God to bless the entire congregation’s growth in worship, for His glory.

When ministry becomes performance, then the sanctuary becomes a theater, the congregation becomes an audience, worship becomes entertainment, and man’s applause and approval become the measure of success. But when ministry is for the glory of God, his presence moves into the sanctuary. Even the unsaved visitor will fall down on his face, worship God, and confess that God is among us.  – Warren and David Wiersbe

Are you a musician willing to serve occasionally on one of our teams? If so, please contact Terri Moon at musicialmoons@gmail.com

Weekly Update: June 4-9, 2024

The Third Sunday after Pentecost - June 9, 2024

We will meet at our regular service times this Sunday: 8:30 AM and 10:45 AM

Pastor Jeff Stone will be preaching at both services.

Children's Catechesis is taking a break for the summer and will reconvene on Sunday, September 8.

This Sunday will be the final Sunday class for the middle school and high school youth. Their regular classes will also reconvene on September 8.

Acolytes!

An Acolyte is someone between the ages of 7-16 who helps the clergy during worship on Sundays. You get a fancy white robe, and you'll get to carry the cross, candles, and maybe a banner at the beginning and end of each service.

You'll also get to sit by and assist the pastors during worship, especially at the altar during communion but at other times as well. It's really fun, and it's a good way to learn more about Jesus and our worship services.

If you or your child are interested in serving as an Acolyte, we will have a sign-up sheet out in the foyer on Sunday, by the children's check-in and welcome. We will start meeting in August to prepare for serving in September.

If you have any questions, please see Pastor Jeff or Kerm Neal, or reach out to the Church Office.

2024 Summer Music & Art Camp

We are bringing back our Art and Music Camp for kids ages 5 – 10!

Camp will begin on Monday, August 5, and will run through Thursday, August 8, at Holy Trinity from 1-4 PM.

NEW this year! We will be having a Music & Art Camp showcase on Friday, August 9, at 4:30pm at the church to show everyone the wonderful musical
talents and art pieces created by the children during the camp. All are invited!

Our camp focus will be on the Bible’s great true story (HIS Story!) all about God’s loving acts of deliverance. Each day children will learn Scripture verses, make crafts and explore music that will focus on illustrating the lessons of the Bible, as told through “The Story of God Our Savior” by Kenneth Padgett and Shay Gregorie.

Click here to register your child(ren)!

Interested in volunteering?!? Yes, we need you!

We need volunteers to make Summer Music & Art Camp work! We welcome older children, ages 11+, and adults for these roles even if you can only volunteer for one day. We are looking for Storytellers, Craft Helpers, Music Helpers, Administrative Helpers, and Snack Helpers.

If you'd like to volunteer, please use the same form at THIS LINK (same as above) to connect with us. We look forward to serving with you!

Church Plant Service Opportunity: Saturday, May 25, 2024

Our brothers and sisters at Restoration Anglican Church, the church plant being shepherded by Eric Chesney, are committed to serving together monthly as a church and as part of their Communal Way of Life.

They will serve together monthly on the last Saturday of the month just as our brothers and sisters in Rwanda do every month, and they are inviting those of us thinking about joining the church plant to serve with them this Saturday!

They are focusing their service to areas within a 15 min walk of where they plan to worship on Sundays; thus, their first Umuganda Day will be focused on cleaning the church building they are hoping to partner with and praying throughout the building.

If you would like to join them, or if you are interested in spending some time with the growing Restoration Anglican family, perhaps as part of your own process of discerning whether to join the church plant, Click HERE to see all the details and register to let them know you are coming!

Walk for Life

The annual Walk for LIfe is coming! Please check out the display table in the Fellowship Hall at the Church and sign up to participate.

The Altar Guild is comprised of volunteers from the congregation. The team is led by Ashley Carlson, and at this time, we do not have enough volunteers to cover the 8-9 services held each month. We need more volunteers for the Altar Guild.

If you are interested or might be willing to serve with our Altar Guild team, please reach out to Ashley Carlson or connect with Deacon Mark in the Church Office by phone (719-505-8021) or by email (office@holytrinityanglicanchurch.org).

Prayer Ministry Volunteers

Prayer is essential.

Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24)

Scripture says, "Pray without ceasing." (1Thess 5:17) "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Phil 4:6) "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." (Col 4:2)

We are calling for people who will pray. We need men and women who will be a part of our email prayer chain and will pray over needs and requests submitted to the Church.

We also need prayers team volunteers who will pray on Sunday mornings during Communion for those who come to the back of the Sanctuary for prayer.

If you are willing to help with either of these important prayer ministries, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.

Missions & Outreach Giving - Q1 2024

The Missions & Outreach Financial Team has completed the first quarter distribution of $18,487 in donations to support missionaries and ministries, both locally and internationally. The map above shows stars on the ministry locations we are impacting through our gifts.

Approximately half of the funds distributed are going to local and domestic ministries, and half are going to international missionaries and missions organizations.

On the international front, 46% of the funds will be going to direct Gospel-sharing ministries working in India, Thailand, Myanmar, Rwanda, Iraq and Guatemala. 16% will go to organizations that are delivering direct care services to the needy in Nigeria and Tanzania. The remaining 38% is going for the care and support of missionaries and ministry workers in Europe, South America, and Lebanon.

On the domestic front, we continue to provide support to our ministry partners in the Colorado Springs region, including Tri Lakes Cares, Mercy's Gate, Life Network, Anselm Society, Redeemed Seasons, and ThreeSixty. In addition, we are supporting outreach and care ministries in Denver, Canon City, and El Paso, Texas. The range of services supported through our dollars include basic safety net services, like food and rent assistance, prison ministry, pregnancy care, gospel ministry to Jewish communities, spiritual direction, and missionary care.

If you have questions or would like more detailed information about our financial outreach efforts, please seek out Deacon Mark.

Please also watch for more information coming soon on a number of boots-on-the-ground outreach opportunities that are developing for the late Spring and Summer seasons.

Pentecost Is Coming! Readers needed!

Pentecost is just a few weeks away, and we are planning a very special service on Pentecost Sunday, which falls this year on May 19.

First, we will have a baptism for young Wesley Thigpen. Woo Hoo!!

Second, we will enjoy our Holy Trinity tradition of reading the Pentecost story in multiple languages. This is a powerful experience -- hearing voices in as many different languages as we can gather, proclaiming the arrival and manifestation of the Holy Spirit through the speaking "in other tongues" as described in Acts, Chapter 2.

If you read and speak a non-English language, we would love to have your help with the Pentecost reading. Last year, we had 7 different languages. This year, we'd love to have more. Please reach out to Deacon Mark if you are interested in participating.
