The Care Team

The mission of our Care Team is to uphold the Biblical mandate to “love one another as Christ has loved us” (John 15:12) and to “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

The Care Team is a group of clergy and lay volunteers who can provide support to those in need. We offer presence, a compassionate and informed ear, and a deep desire to help. We bring awareness of resources, inside and outside the church, that may be available to provide support. In that regard, we can connect parishioners with people (clergy, layperson, professional) and agencies (nonprofit, community, or government) that may be able to assist in times of need. Team members are not therapists, but they can make calls and walk with those who are ill, grieving, or struggling with difficult times.

The Care Team is coordinated by Deacon Mark Summers. In addition to his roles as Deacon and as Business Manager for the Church, Mark is a spiritual director and care ministry leader. He is available by phone or email and will arrange to meet with you to help assess concerns and needs, and make appropriate recommendations and/or referrals to carefully screened counselors or resources in the community.

Healing & Intercessory Prayer

“...and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints..." Ephesians 6:17-18

Prayer during Sunday

Prayer teams are available to pray confidentially with you during Sunday Eucharist at the rear of the Sanctuary.  On the first Sunday of each month, corporate prayer, intercession and anointing is led by the priest at the end of the second service.

Individual Confidential Prayer Support

Contact any of the clergy or the care coordinator in the Church Office for individual prayer needs.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:9-10

Our Areas of Work

Hospital Visitation

A cheerful face in the midst of illness brings a ray of hope and reassurance. Hospital visitors express the love of the church and let people know they are being prayed for during times of illness and recovery. Lay Eucharist ministers are available to bring communion to the hospital.

Homebound Visitation

People who are unable to leave their homes or attend church, due to illness or age, are visited on a regular basis by a friendly and supportive member of this ministry for prayer, conversation and companionship.

Altar Flower Delivery

Following the Sunday services, the altar flowers may be given or delivered to ill or grieving parishioners.

Home Communion

Lay Eucharistic ministers may take the Sacrament, consecrated at the celebration of the Eucharist, to members of our parish who, through illness or infirmity, are unable to come to church.

soul care and spiritual direction

Confidential conversation in the form of general soul care or spiritual direction is available to those who are seeking to strengthen and deepen their relationship with Jesus. The presence of another who can listen with compassion and discernment often refines our perceptions of circumstances and aligns our perspective with that of our Savior.

Confession

Confidential sacramental confession with a priest, covering specific issues or one’s whole life. Contact the Church Office to make an appointment.

Church Community Builder (CCB)

Our CCB environment is one of the main platforms we use to communicate with our Church Family and to receive communications from individuals and families.

Our Congregational Care Request Form is an easy and quick way to send a request for help or support directly to the Care Team in the Church Office. You can submit a form for yourself or on behalf of another. We always - ALWAYS - want to know when there is a need. To access the form, click on the form name above or CLICK HERE.
