Mission Trip Description:

We plan to fly into Guatemala City from Denver, and stay near Antigua about 2 hours away from Guatemala City. We will spend most of our time in the Antigua area (a World Heritage Site and relatively small city with a population of 50,000) and depending on the mix of the team and numbers of adults & kids, our abilities and interests etc. we may split up teams for varied ministry opportunities and schedules. The hope is for you (and your family) to engage personally with ministry opportunities, build relationships and get a glimpse of God’s heart for the people of Guatemala.

Included in our trip schedule:  team conversations/debriefs, prayer, worship, rest, relaxation (local tour of Antigua) etc.

Costs are based on local ministry knowledge and should be fairly realistic.  We would encourage you to budget in some extra (gifts for families served, personal shopping / meals out, tours and activities etc).

Beauty will save the world, according to Dostoevsky. Curt Thompson says, “Beauty draws our attention and attunes our hearts to the presence of God.” To quote another friend here in this congregation, Lancia Smith,“Every act of beauty is a defiance of despair, every candle lit repels the darkness.”

The strongly reinforced theme of the Compline service is this: God is our protector. It is this last service of the Daily Office that deals most directly with the assaults of the enemy and the other perils we face, asking for God’s peace and shelter. Join us for this evening rich with Scripture, music, peace, and beauty. It is an opportunity to lay your cares at God’s throne.

Special guests of Soli Deo Gloria Choir will be helping to lead the service.

Come pray for peace on December 7th.

What is Advent and how do I "do" it?  Advent is a season of preparation for Christmas and The Incarnation, as well as its own deep and important season (1-23 December), but sometimes it's hard to learn how to participate fully while doing it. This class will set you up with history, practice and Scripture so that you can more fully enter into this deep and beautiful season and into Christmas itself.

through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one

Curt Thompson says that beauty will save the world. He writes, “In all that awakens within us in the pure and authentic experience of beauty, there is, truly, the presence of God.” To quote another friend here in this congregation, Lancia Smith,“Every act of beauty is a defiance of despair, every candle lit repels the darkness.”

Singer/songwriter/storyteller and Mississippi native Matthew Clark blends a thought-provoking narrative lyricism with well-honed guitar skills to craft songs that have been likened to the work of Andrew Peterson, Phil Keaggy, and James Taylor.

Each Fall Matthew loads up his tiny-house-in-a-van (a converted Dodge Sprinter dubbed “Vandalf the White”) and travels all over the country playing concerts in homes and churches.  Matthew’s engaging conversational performance style has led concert-goers to comment that the stories between the songs are as enjoyable as the songs themselves.

“The Well Trilogy” is Matthew’s current project: 3 full-length album/book combos releasing over 3 years. Each installment is made up of 11 songs and a companion book of 13 essays written by a variety of contributors exploring themes around encountering Jesus, faith-keeping, and the return of Christ.

Listen to Matthew’s music here: www.matthewclark.net

Welcome COS

Holy Trinity is excited to be partnering with a new nonprofit ministry in town- Welcome COS. Our goal is to add to the tapestry of Colorado Springs by serving refugees with a spirit of welcome, a faith-based approach, mobilization of churches, and nimble and innovative pathways to services.  We do this by engaging the church, community partners, and individuals in Colorado Springs to welcome new neighbors.

Over the coming month, we will be sending out a volunteer interest form. Right now, we are blessing a newly arrived Syrian family with bikes.

Here's what we still need:

2 Boy Riders (either push bikes or bikes with training wheels

1 Boys Bike (11 year old)

3 Boys Helmets

4 Bike Locks

To donate please contact Amy Schulte at 314-750-9263 or via email at Amy.schulte@welcomecos.org. Thank you for your excitement and interest in serving this incredibly resilient and courageous population in our city. To learn more please visit www.welcomecos.org

SummerSong Concert & Dessert Fellowship

Please join us for an evening of great music and wonderful fellowship on Saturday, August 3rd at 6:30 PM at Holy Trinity.

The evening will begin with the Anselm Celtic Band, which includes our own Terri Moon, Clay Clarkson, Mark Fisher, and others.

Then we will experience Nashville-based international singer-songwriter Stephanie Staples, who has ministered and performed around the world for over two decades.

Staples has written and recorded nine full albums and an EP. Stephanie’s studio albums tell part of her story but it is in her live performances that she truly shines, captivating audiences and fostering a reflective and prayerful atmosphere as she pours the full depth of her life experiences into her music, not shying away from the reality of suffering and dark times but reflecting a light that persists through it all.

Learn more about Stephanie here!

Following the concert, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for a dessert social.

Please see the link below for tickets to the concert. The ticket price is $10 per person, but tickets are discounted to $5 per person, if you bring a dessert for the fellowship time.
