2023 is going to be a banner year for community and hospitality events at Holy Trinity.
Last Sunday, we had our first major event: the Annual Chili Cookoff and Potluck Lunch. It was amazing! We enjoyed 14 chili entries for the cookoff, and Tim Peterson's chili won over the judges to take a strong win for best chili of the day.
For the year ahead, we currently have 9 additional community gatherings already on the calendar. Here's the list:
21 February - Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (6 PM)
16 April - Easter Feast Potluck Brunch (11 AM)
30 April - 5th Sunday Potluck Brunch (11 AM)
30 July - 5th Sunday Potluck Brunch (11 AM)
3 September - Joint service and picnic in the Park with IAC
29 October - 5th Sunday Potluck Brunch (11 AM)
26 November - Hanging of the Greens (6 PM)
24 December - Christmas Eve Supper Gathering (between services)
31 December - 5th Sunday Potluck Brunch (11 AM)
Each of these events is an amazing opportunity to reach out to the neighborhoods that surround Holy Trinity and to forge strong bonds of friendship within our Church family.
To make all of these events happen, we need your help!
If you have the gifting of hospitality, if you are a planner and a make-things-happen kind of person, would you please consider signing up to be the event coordinator for one or more of these gatherings?
What would you be signing up to do?
Here's a brief description: "Coordinating" an event means helping to recruit people to do setup beforehand and cleanup afterwards, making sure we have the supplies we need, deciding what we want people to bring, and then “directing traffic” on the day of the event to make sure it goes smoothly. We need a person who will “take point” to think through how best to pull off the event and then marshalling the resources needed to help it all come together.
If you are willing to be the event coordinator for one or more of these planned gatherings, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office to sign up.
If you don't have the space or the giftings to take on the coordinator role, please mark your calendar for these events in 2023. And when the event coordinators make the call for volunteers to help with particular tasks, please be open to the call and sign on to support the coordinators with your time and efforts.
Blessings to all!
