VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR KEY POSITIONS
We have several key positions that desperately need volunteer leaders. Deacon Mark is at capacity and needs some help in a few critical spots. Would you consider stepping in to one of these roles?
Here are the roles that need a volunteer or volunteers:
HTAC Coordinator for the Labor Day Sunday Service and Picnic with International Anglican Church (IAC)
What: Remember that awesome outdoor service and picnic with IAC last year at Bear Creek Pavilion? We're doing it again this year over Labor Day weekend. We need to identify a single point person (coordinator) to work with IAC on organizing and executing on this event. The HTAC Coordinator will recruit an army of volunteers to help with the functions and tasks assigned to our congregation.
When: Soon (if not immediately). IAC is in the very early stages of beginning to plan the event, and they need from us the person/persons with whom they will communicate as the event plans develop.
Time Commitment: Obviously, the initial time demands are relatively light, but as we get closer to the event, the list of "things to get done" grows, and more time is required. If you'd like to get an idea of what's involved, please reach out to Wendy Oliver, who coordinated the event for us last year.
Say Yes: If you're ready to "say yes" to this role, or if you have additional questions, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.
Hospitality Coordinator
What: We have a variety of social events and gatherings on the Church calendar that require coordination. The Hospitality Coordinator will help us execute effectively on those events by recruiting other volunteers to help with setup and cleanup and to organize the provision of food and beverages, where needed. Deacon Mark will work on communications and announcements to the congregation, as requested by the Coordinator.
When: Both July and October are 5-Sunday months, so each of those months will have a church-wide potluck on the fifth Sunday morning. We also have a number of special events as we roll into Advent and Christmas, including but not limited to the Hanging of the Greens and Christmas Eve services.
Time Commitment: Week-to-week, this role doesn't require a lot of attention, but as we approach the dates for specific events, like the 5th-Sunday brunches and the holiday events, there will be a variety of tasks required to organize and pull together the needed resources.
Say Yes: If you're ready to "say yes" to this role, or if you have additional questions, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.
Tech Team Coordinator
What: We need a partner for Michael Pollard to help with the technology requirements and technology support for sound, slides and Zoom on Sunday mornings. The coordinator would become, with some training and orientation, the subject matter expert on all things techie on Sundays. The coordinator will recruit, train (as needed), and schedule the volunteers who staff the tech stations on Sunday morning. This role will require close coordination with Michael Pollard (or others leading worship) and with Deacon Mark in the Church Office.
When: We could use this help as soon as possible. Summertime would be a great season to slowly get acclimated to the technology environment at the Church and to work with Deacon Mark on a gradual handoff.
Time Commitment: Depending on the scope of your technology background, getting up to speed could be very easy or could require a little bit of time. Once up to speed, the weekly time requirements are fairly modest: to schedule the volunteers, to backfill when there are unexpected absences, to oversee the care and maintenance of the tech components in our systems, and to help with troubleshooting issues, as they arise.
Say Yes: If you're ready to "say yes" to this role, or if you have additional questions, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.
Coordinator for 2022 Backpack Bash
What: HTAC is a regular participant in the COSILoveU/Mercy's Gate annual Backpack Bash to benefit disadvantaged kids who need backpacks and school supplies for the new school year. This coordinator will sprearhead HTAC's involvement with and response to this important local outreach program.
When: Mercy's Gate is just starting the processes for the 2022 campaign, so now would be a great time for us to connect them with our coordinator.Time Commitment: This is a limited engagement that ends just as school is beginning. It is not particularly labor-intensive, but mostly requires getting the word out to the congregation and pulling together volunteers to help with the collecting of supplies and the stuffing of backpacks.
Say Yes: If you're ready to "say yes" to this role, or if you have additional questions, please reach out to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.
And as always, if you need more information about any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact the Church Office at (719) 505-8021 or by email at office@holytrinityanglicanchurch.org.
