SUMMERTIME PLANS FOR HTAC in 2022
Summer is upon us! There are several new and exciting fellowship and discipleship opportunities available for individuals and families this summer. Here are three for your consideration and calendars:
Fox Run Playground Group - Wednesdays @ 10:30 AM, June 1 - Aug 10
Who: Kids of all ages and their caretakers (grandparents, moms, dads, sitters)
When: Wednesday Mornings @ 10:30 AM (stay as short or long as you like)
Where: Fox Run Playground #2 (east playground). We'll set up near the playground for easy access for younger kids, but there is also great open field space for older kids to play games, even middle or high schoolers.
What: Bring your own snack or lunch (if you decide to stay longer) and any outdoor activities your kids enjoy.
Why: This group will be a consistent meetup for families over the summer to foster community and to be an outreach within the community. Come as you are able. It is open to anyone, anytime, even if you can only make it once. We look forward to deepening relationships while being visible and present regularly in the community. We hope that you will invite neighbors, co-workers or friends who are looking for community and/or are not currently a part of the church.Questions: If you have questions or need more information, please contact Kati Traylor.
Summer Book Group - Wednesdays @ 7:30 PM, June 22 - Aug 3
What: "You Are What You Love" by James KA Smith
When: 7:30-9:00 PM on Wednesdays, June 22 - Aug 3 (7 weeks)
Where: TBD, probably a home in Gleneagle
How: Read one chapter per week (averages 30 small-ish pages), attend every week, and let the group leader know if you can't make it.
Why: In a readable format, this book provides a theological anthropology that underlies Anglican worship practices, arguing from human experience and Scripture that we are liturgical creatures.Questions: If you'd like to join or have questions, you can signup by contacting Pastor Matt Traylor.
Women's Summer Bible Study - Mondays @ 7:30 PM, June 13 - Aug 15
Who: Open to all the women in the parish
What: Fellowship, Bible Study of Hebrews, and Prayer
When: 7:30-9:30 PM on Mondays, June 13 - August 15 (8 weeks)
Where: The Lauries' house in Monument
How: We will be following a study guide and workbook developed by Holy Trinity Church in Chicago. This study focuses on key portions of the letter to the Hebrews and includes great questions for contemplation and discussion to explore the original meaning of the author and the applicability of the texts to our modern lives, both individually and as a community.
Why: We invite women of the parish into spiritual fellowship and support through this study of Scripture.Questions: If you'd like to join or have questions, you can signup by contacting Laura Laurie.
Beyond Rescue - Mondays @ 6:30 PM, beginning Aug 22
What: Beyond Rescue: Embracing Your Reclaimed Heart, offered by Redeemed Seasons Ministries
When: 6:30-9:00 PM on Mondays, August 22 - November 21 (12 weeks)
Where: Holy Trinity Anglican Church
Why: Beyond Rescue is a 12-week discipleship experience, designed to help individuals engage intentionally in their own developing story of redemption and pursue more actively the peace and freedom that comes through a relationship with Jesus. This is an intensive spiritual healing program with weekly teachings, group contemplative exercises, small group discussion/prayer and individual spiritual direction. Seating is limited.
Questions: If you are interested in Beyond Rescue or have questions, please reach out to Deacon Mark Summers.
And as always, if you need more information about any of these offerings, please contact the Church Office at (719) 505-8021 or by email at office@holytrinityanglicanchurch.org.
WHAT'S NOT HAPPENING THIS SUMMER
We are arranging a short hiatus for several of our regular discipleship and fellowship offerings over the summer. Here are the specifics:
We are suspending the First Friday Evening Services for June, July, August, and September. We will reconvene the regular evening service on October 7.
We will suspend the Second Sunday Stories classes, between services on Sunday morning, for the months of June, July and August. We'll restart the Second Sunday Stories on September 11.
We will take a 6-week break with Children's Catechesis on Sunday mornings during the latter weeks of the summer. The specific dates are still being worked out, but they will likely span from late July into August. More details to come on that front.
REMINDER: WALK FOR LIFE
Saturday, June 4 @ Memorial Park
There is still time to sign up to walk or to pledge financial support for someone else who is walking. We also need prayer support for the whole event and for the ministry of Life Network for families and children. You can sign up for the Walk for Life at their website:walkforlife.com
