RE-START of the ACOLYTE MINISTRY

In preparation for the movement back to two Sunday services, we are re-energizing our Acolyte Team. Since it has been nearly two years since we've had Acolytes serving during services, we have decided to begin this process again from scratch.

Acolytes assist the Pastors and Deacons in conducting our Anglican worship services. This includes lighting and extinguishing candles, carrying the cross, presenting the cross during the Gospel reading, helping the Deacon prepare the table for communion, etc. We have a book that explains the history of Acolytes, their responsibilities, and the specific things they do during a worship service. Though Acolytes tend to be younger people in the congregation, there is nothing preventing adults from serving in this capacity. In fact, we encourage all children older than 10 years and any adult who would like to serve to consider being an acolyte. As we rebuild our team in the coming weeks, we will have training sessions prior to September 12.

Please let Deacon Mark, or myself know if you would like to serve as an Acolyte at either the early or late service starting in September. We look forward to having you be part of this historical and spiritual church role.

OPEN HOUSE FOR HTAC FAMILIES

Pastor Chris and Amy Stroup will be hosting an open house on Saturday, August 14 from 4 to 6 PM for Holy Trinity families with children.

The purpose of the open house is to give our families the opportunity to meet our new Family Discipleship Minister, Matt Traylor and his wife, Kati, and their kids, Faith and Riley. Pastor Matt T will be sharing plans for the Children's ministry at HTAC in the fall.

This will be a great setting in which to meet and get to know some of the other families from our church. We'll also have a signup sheet for those of you who might be interested in having a longer conversation with the Traylors over dinner.

More details will be coming in the next week or so. Stay tuned!

If you have questions in the meantime, please contact the Church Office.
