Memorial Service for Jain Paauw

The memorial service for Jain Paauw will be held on Friday, July 9 at 2 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The address for Covenant Presbyterian is 2845 Parliament Drive, Colorado Springs 80920.

Immediately following the service, there will be a reception/gathering for all in attendance. This is an event shared between the Covenant Pres and Holy Trinity communities, and we are all invited to be a part of providing the food for the event.

Food can be dropped off at Covenant Pres on Friday from noon-1:00. The coordinators are asking for finger foods, such as cookies, crackers with meat and cheese, individually wrapped bags of chips, quick breads, and similar fare.

If you have any questions, or if you need additional information, please contact the Holy Trinity Office at (719) 505-80212, or you can email to office@holytrinityanglicanchurch.org.

Some Changes to Sunday Communion

You will see some changes to our Communion process this coming Sunday - changes that will have the Communion portion of the service looking a bit more like it did before COVID.

First, we will have Chalice Bearers in place once again. After you receive the Host (wafer) at the Altar, you'll be able to step to one of the Chalice Bearer to dip the wafer into the wine. The Chalice Bearer will speak the words of distribution for the wine.

For receiving the Host, you can either allow the Pastor or Deacon to place a wafer into your cupped hands, or you can take a wafer yourself out of one of the bowls sitting on the Altar.

Holy Communion is meant to reflect a shared, communal meal - like the meal shared between Jesus and His disciples at the Last Supper. Having participants from the congregation, in the role of Chalice Bearers, brings a sweet element to our shared experience at the Table with Jesus.

If you are interested in being a Chalice Bearer (which can be a powerful, moving experience), reach out to Mark in the Church Office. We are building a new roster of volunteers who would like to serve in the Holy Eucharist in this way.
