Friday Evening Soup and Stuff

This Friday evening, we have a couple of overlapping, but not conflicting, opportunities for you and your family. First, beginning at 5:15 PM, Pastor Matt Traylor will lead a brief "Stations of the Cross" devotional in the Sanctuary. The "Stations" is a contemplative journey with Jesus from his sentencing to his crucifixion and burial. The service lasts about 30 minutes.

After the "Stations", around 6 PM, we will have a Soup Supper, and you are welcome to join us, whether you attend the Stations service or not. Bring some soup or something to go along with soup, and enjoy some fellowship time with your church family.

Immediately following the supper, we will be showing a wonderful movie called "Amazing Grace." It is the story of William Wilberforce, one of the historical heroes of the faith, who fought to abolish the slave trade in Britain.

The Persecuted Church with Pastor Al Janssen

Pastor Al Janssen will present the second of three special adult discipleship teachings on the Persecuted Church. This Sunday, Pastor Al will talk about the realities of life for followers of Jesus in two of the most dangerous areas of the world for Christians. The final session will cover some of the ways the Body of Christ in North America can support oppressed Christians around the world.

Newcomers Lunch and Membership Class

We will host a Newcomers Lunch after our Sunday services on March 20. The lunch will run from about 12:15 to 2:00 PM. If you'd like to attend this informal, Q&A session with Pastor Matt and others from the HTAC staff and leadership, let us know, so we can order a lunch for you. You can sign up at THIS LINK or by reaching out to the Church Office.

We will hold a membership class on Sunday, March 27 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Church. Note that we have pushed the start time to 2:30, so Pastor Matt has time to finish his discipleship class for the High School youth. The Membership Class reviews the theology and history of Holy Trinity and of Anglicanism in general. This is a comprehensive class on our collective and foundational beliefs, and it offers a look into what membership at HTAC is all about. If you are interested in attending, you can sign up at THIS LINK.

Lenten Fast - Week 2

This week, we are fasting from sweets and treats. Resolve to deny yourself any type of sweets and desserts this week. Your "No thanks" could cover lattes in the morning to a snack at work or that chocolate ice cream in the evening. As you choose not to partake, note what happens inside you when you deny yourself something you really want or crave. What insight is the Holy Spirit offering you in the midst of that experience?
